The importance of Hydration.

We are often told that drinking eight glasses of water each day will help us stay
hydrated throughout the day, but it’s not that simple. Staying hydrated by drinking
enough water each day is crucial for many reasons. In everyday life, staying hydrated
helps regulate body temperature, keeps joints lubricated, supports brain function, and
aids digestion of food. All key factors in the importance of hydration to overall health.

Staying hydrated is extremely important during a workout

Dehydration can decrease your workouts by 12% to 15%. Staying hydrated during your
training helps lubricate your joints, provides needed energy and flushes out toxins. Get
in the habit of drinking 1 to 2 8 oz glasses of water when you wake up in the morning.
Starting your day with two glasses of water before anything else (food or drink) will help
flush out toxins that build up overnight.

Staying hydrated isn’t just about liquids

Hydration is also about electrolytes and carbohydrates. You can get enough electrolytes
from what you eat on an average day. Fruits and vegetables add to your daily fluid
intake. However, working out during the day means your body needs more electrolytes
to help the cells in your body to work correctly. You must get the right balance of
electrolytes, glucose, and sodium to ensure proper rehydration.
